Health Check-up (H.T.C.)

This measures the density of the bones of the hip and of the lumbar spine. It allows the detection of osteoporosis, increased bone fragility.

Osteoporosis may be an disabeling disease and in advanced cases may be the cause of spontaneous bone fracture or vertebral compression fractures.

• For women, this test is done at adult age and periodically after the menopause.
• For men, the physician will decide if it is indicated for this test to be performed.
